Congratulations to Sevagen, Our Summer OSPP2021 Student!
As part of the Summer Open Source Promotion Plan 2021 sponsored by ISCAS (Institute of Software Chinese Academy of Sciences) and openEuler, Veerasamy Sevagen will be joining CHAOSS for 3 months to work on GrimoireLab. Sevagen will be mentored by Venu Vardhan Reddy Tekula and will be working to improve the GrimoireLab tutorial. We are very happy to officially have you on board, Sevagen!
CHAOSScon CfP and Sponsorship is Open, Registration Almost There
You can now register for Open Source Summit, but the CHAOSScon add-on is not yet available (contrary to our tweet yesterday, whoops!). CHAOSScon is happening in-person (and virtually) September 30 in Seattle, immediately following the OSS conference.
We would love it if you could help us spread the word about the CfP to CHAOSScon, and about our corporate sponsorship opportunities. You can read more about this year’s CHAOSScon on our site. Hope to see you all, either virtually or in person!
CHAOSS Meetup July 8 in Beijing
Our Chinese CHAOSS community is hosting a meetup in Beijing on July 8. If you are part of that community, or if you have friends or colleagues in the area who you think might be interested in attending, please help us spread the word! The community is amazing, and this will be a very informative and interesting meetup about community health metrics and the CHAOSS project. Reminder: Zoom Office Hours Now Open Every Monday
Last week, we started hosting open office hours on Mondays for newcomers to the CHAOSS project. For those who aren’t familiar with this term, it’s a time when one of the CHAOSS community will be openly available on Zoom to answer any questions you have. No registration needed; you can just hop on the CHAOSS Community Zoom call any time during the 2-hour window, and leave when your question has been answered.

Only a Few Workshops Left for Getting Started as a Contributor to CHAOSS Software
You still have time to join one of our upcoming workshop series. All workshops will be hosted on our Community Zoom (https://zoom.us/my/chaoss) and are from 8am – 10am CDT, 6:30pm – 8:30pm IST. You can join as an attendee, or a mentor! GSoC Students are also highly encouraged to attend.
