Changes to Office Hours

Our open Office Hours for newcomers will reconvene on Tuesday, February 1 and will happen every Tuesday from 9:00 am – 10:00 am US Central/Chicago time. Feel free to join as you wish at any time during that hour at https://zoom.us/my/chaoss. No registration is needed and you can ask anything you want about the CHAOSS project!

This week, we join Amanda Casari (Google), Katie McLaughlin (Google), and John Meluso (University of Vermont) to discuss Project OCEAN (Open-Source Complex Ecosystems And Networks) and the challenges and strategies around making sure all open source contributions to a project are acknowledged and counted. They also discuss our Types of Contributions Metric, and the complexities of the open source ecosystem. Many communities give themselves a collective name to help define a collective identity and build unity among the community members. We’ve seen a lot of new faces and names recently, so we just want to welcome you to the CHAOSS Community. We have a handy form that lets us get to know you a little more, so we can help point you in the right direction when getting started in CHAOSS. If you’re new to the community and you haven’t yet filled this form out, we’d love it if you could do that here.

We also highly recommend you attend one of our CHAOSS Community Weekly Meetings, happening every Tuesday at 11:00 am US Central/Chicago time. If you can’t make that, you can see previous recordings of our meetings on CHAOSStube. You can also join our open Office Hours starting in February, happening every Tuesday at 9:00 am US Central/Chicago time.
