Metrics Freeze is Almost Here
In preparation for our April Metrics Release, we are currently scheduled to freeze the metric release candidates on March 1. This allows for a 30-day public comment period, where anyone can jump into the conversation and comment on new metrics we’ve developed. If you’re taking part in a working group, the agendas should carve out some time to finish up any metrics that are in progress. We’ll also talk a little about this process in the Community Meeting tomorrow at 11:00 am US Central/Chicago time. You can also ask questions about this in our Slack channel. Join us!
Some Open CfPs for You!
Every now and again we pass along some information around open Calls for Proposals/Presentations/Papers for tech conferences of interest. Of course, we’d love to have you submit something related to CHAOSS but it’s completely fine if you don’t! đ We encourage you to submit something anyway. If you’re a new speaker and you’d like some feedback on your talk proposal, we have many seasoned speakers who would love to help. Simply post something in the #general channel of our Slack.

Reminder: GSOC Ideas are Open!
CHAOSS is thrilled to be applying for GSOC once again. This experience has been extremely valuable and rewarding for mentees and mentors alike, and for the overall CHAOSS project. Ideas are currently being collected here: https://github.com/chaoss/community/blob/main/GSoC-Ideas.md. You can add your idea by forking this repo and submitting a PR. They have not yet announced accepted participating organizations, but stay tuned. The general GSOC timeline can be found here.Â
