GSoC 2021 is Wrapping Up 

Once again, the CHAOSS project was incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to work with some wonderful students during Google Summer of Code. We are grateful to all our students and look forward to seeing their final project summaries. Our amazing students this year were:

Metrics Models Working Group Will Continue 

After a very successful first meeting last week, it was decided to continue the Metrics Models Working Group meetings on a weekly basis (at least to start with). You can read the notes from the first meeting here.

This group will continue to meet Tuesdays at 6:00 pm US Central/Chicago time (Wednesdays at 7:00 am, Beijing Standard Time). (We realize this time is inconvenient for our European Community, so we encourage you to bring your thoughts to the next App Ecosystem Group meeting on August 23 at 12:00 pm US Central/Chicago time.)

Reminder: Next Metrics Release Dates

The upcoming metrics freeze is upon us! The October release schedule is as follows:

  • September 1, 2021: Metrics development freeze.
  • September 1 – September 30: Public feedback period on proposed metrics.
  • October 1, 2021 (Approx): 2021-10 Metrics release.

All working groups should strive to bring closure to metrics currently in progress by September 1 if possible.
