New CHAOSScast Released: Episode 57 – The Ins and Outs of Large Scale Research with Hilary Carter
This week we were so honored to be joined by Hilary Carter, the VP Research for the Linux Foundation! Hilary chats with host Georg Link, and panelists Kate Stewart and Sophia Vargas about the way that the LF approaches the large scale research projects that many others rely on in their work. They talk about the planning process, creating surveys and collecting trace data, and how we can all collaborate and share insights with each other. This is an episode you won’t want to miss, and you can listen here: https://podcast.chaoss.community/57.
New Issue Templates in the Working Groups’ Repos
Shout out to Matt Germonprez who set up all the working group repositories with three issue templates:
- Template for New Metric Ideas
- Template for Metric Release Candidates
- Template for Revising Old Metrics
These templates include guidance for form and structure and when applicable, checklists for metrics quality assurances. Standardizing them across working groups is a great step toward making it easier for contributors to open issues, ensuring we are collecting all the necessary information, and completing all the steps for releasing our metrics.
Reminder: CHAOSScon EU 2022 CfP is Open
CHAOSScon EU 2022 will be happening on September 12, in Dublin Ireland, in conjunction with Open Source Summit Europe, and we are very pleased to announce that our CfP is open! We are interested in a variety of topics and presentation styles, so check out the CfP details on the CHAOSS website. The deadline to apply is May 30, so you have some time to draft that talk. We want to hear from you! (Sponsorship opportunities are also available if you’d like more information about those too).
