Recent Metrics Released

In the past few months, we released a few metrics that we wanted to share with you, in case you missed them!
  • Change Request Closure Ratio – Is the project keeping up with change requests?
  • Release Frequency – How often does a project publish a release of their software / artifact?
  • Event Location Inclusivity – Is the event located in a region where governments, cultural contexts, or society may cause harm to the physical safety and/or psychological safety of event attendees?
  • Public Health and Safety – To what extent does your event address public health through policies around masks, vaccines, COVID testing, and in infrastructure such as ventilation and air purification in indoor venues?
  • Newcomer Experience – How well does an open source community attend to welcoming newcomers?
We have a variety of other metrics we are preparing to release, including:
  • Project Access – To what extent does your project provide access and help those with various access needs?
  • Communication TransparencyHow transparent is project communication?
  • Event Location EquityWhere are open source project events located and are they located in regions that are accessible to all community members?
If you have an interest in helping build these metrics or discussing these topics, we’d love for you to join us at the applicable working group meetings, which are open to everyone. Check our Community Calendar for a full list of when these meetings are taking place.
