Weekly Newsletter (November 2-6, 2020)
We did it!
Last week was an emotional whirlwind, and we want to thank everyone for being flexible and empathetic toward each other, as we all dealt with the stress of the week in our own ways. Most of our usual Working Group meetings were canceled, shortened, or resulted in casual touch-base zoom calls where we just checked in on each other. So if you needed to take some time off last week, you didn’t miss much. We are back in action this week, and we’re looking forward to reconnecting with all of you!
Reminder: New Zoom Link is Now In Effect!
This is just a reminder that our shiny new Zoom link is in effect. It is:
Both of those links will take you to the CHAOSS Meeting Zoom. We’ve made the changes throughout all the CHAOSS channels of communication, but if you see a reference to the old number still living on somewhere, let us know! Also, if you have any questions or problems accessing the new link, please let Elizabeth know (firstname.lastname@example.org) and she’ll get you sorted right away.
CHAOSScast Episode 22 with Stephen Jacobs of RIT
This week we were so happy to host Stephen Jacobs, who is at the forefront of the OSPO movement in academia. As one of the first few universities who is implementing this program, we appreciated Stephen’s insight into the differences between managing an OSPO in a university setting versus a corporate setting. Stephen also tells us about his experiences with One Laptop Per Child and with open source in general. It’s a fantastic podcast, and you can hear it right here! https://podcast.chaoss.community/22.
Reminder: CHAOSS App Ecosystem Meetings On Pause for Holidays
As a reminder for those who attend the CHAOSS App Ecosystem meetings every other Monday, these meetings have been put on hold for the holiday season. They will resume on January 11, 2021.
