Get ready! CHAOSScon EU 2026 is set for January 29th in Brussels, and we are thrilled to announce a significant and exciting evolution in how we are running the event. This year, we are partnering with the Commons Hub Brussels and integrating CHAOSScon as a key part of the larger Open Source Village!
What is the Open Source Village?
The Open Source Village is a vibrant, collaboratively created event that takes place over two weeks—the week before and the week after FOSDEM. It serves as a dynamic hub focusing on the power of open source principles applied to everyday life and society.
The village features a fascinating array of topics, including:
- Open Source Parenting
- Open Source Housing
- Open Source Makers/Repairers
- Open Source Media/Democracy
- Open Source Communities
- Open Source Economy
We are incredibly excited to join this community and contribute to the broader conversation about open collaboration. You can learn more about this initiative at opensourcevillage.org.
New Location, New Opportunities for Interaction!
By moving the location of CHAOSScon to the Commons Hub Brussels, it opens up incredible new opportunities for engaging and interactive sessions at CHAOSScon EU.

CHAOSScon’s Main Program
Our main room will host the program CHAOSScon is known for:
- Morning: Talks on the latest in CHAOSS metrics, tools, and news from friends of the CHAOSS community.
- Afternoon: Workshops and unconference sessions for deep dives.
- Evening: A closing panel followed by a social event to connect with the community.

Interactive Sessions
Because The Commons Hub offers multiple smaller rooms, this is the real source of excitement! We now have the space to host:
- Breakout Sessions
- Dedicated Workshops
- Birds of a Feather (BoF) gatherings
- …or any other type of interactive session you can imagine!
This format is designed to foster closer collaboration, hands-on learning, and direct engagement with the CHAOSS community.

Are you interested in leading a discussion, hosting a workshop, or running an interactive session? This can be on CHAOSS metrics, tools, or community health, but can also cover other interesting topics. We welcome your ideas!
